Wedding Bouquets |
Flowers play a big part in the ambience of your whole wedding celebration; they
bring beauty, elegance and atmosphere. That is why at Edith Wilmot we specialise in individual designs created just for you.
At Edith Wilmot our natural tendency is for informal, relaxed look however we are
equally at home making bouquets in a traditional, formal, contemporary, architectural manner or indeed anything you can imagine!
Your dress will be the starting point to co-ordinate the whole wedding, as a
general rule the more uncomplicated the dress then the simpler the bouquet, so start by choosing your dress and the style of your wedding then book an
appointment to see one of our florists who will talk you through what is available for your flowers as well as the bridesmaids, buttonholes, reception
decoration etc.
Here are some things to think about beforehand that you may find
helpful:
-
It can be difficult to know how many flowers to order for the
church/reception. Try visiting after a wedding has taken place and see where the flowers have been put so you can judge whether you need more or less. We will
always be able to advise and suggest the most effective use of flowers.
-
Dont leave it too late, we can be fully booked months in advance for
the more popular summer weekends so come in early to reserve your date.
-
The more you tell us about your wedding the better. Bring along sketches of
the dresses, fabric swatches of the brides and bridesmaids dress material, ideas about your hair style, ages of the bridesmaids, numbers of guests
etc.
-
Let us know your budget. Decide how much you would like to spend and we will
be able advise how best to work within it. The price of wedding flowers depends on the season, type of flowers chosen, size of the bouquets and reception
flowers. If you are on a tight budget we can help by suggesting how to use the available flowers in the most advantageous way.
-
Ask family and friends for any recommendations of florists,
photographers and venues. If you see a wedding you like why not ask for details?
-
Visit more than one of each professional to gain ideas and choose the one
you feel most comfortable with. All good florists will help you with design and creativity to focus your ideas, look round the shops for examples of their
work.
-
There are no hard and fast rules about who pays your wedding flowers.
Traditionally the grooms family supplies the bride and bridesmaids bouquets and the buttonholes/corsages. The brides family covers the church and
reception flowers. A deposit will be asked for with the order and full payment is customarily collected on delivery; the last thing a new husband needs when he
comes back of honeymoon is a bill for the wedding flowers!

"I would like to say a huge thank you for the most amazing bride and bridesmaids bouquets that you
delivered on 16th November. I was absolutely stunned by them -- they exceeded all my expectations ! Its a shame you missed my expression when I first
saw them, they were lovely. My bouquet was the most beautiful I had ever seen and I even took it with me on honeymoon as I wanted to enjoy it ! The
buttonholes were lovely too. So I want to thank you and your team -- you were the TOPS!! With love, Rachael Smith. November
